Karen Rae, STV senior strategic advisor, has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Construction (NAC). NAC’s Class of 2021 was recognized in a ceremony earlier this month.

Rae, who joined STV in 2019, was cited by NAC as a “leading strategist and industry expert in delivery of major public projects with managerial excellence in legislation, funding, procurement, and team relationships.” Rae is responsible for providing strategic advice and support to public owners and private sector infrastructure clients.

Prior to joining STV, Rae led three public transit agencies, served as a senior advisor for innovative project delivery at the New York State Empire Development Corporation, and was instrumental in such projects as the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge in New York State; the Dulles Corridor Metrorail project in Washington, D.C.; and the Keystone Corridor in Pennsylvania. She was also deputy administrator for the Federal Railroad Administration where she played a key role in the development and implementation of the National High-Speed Rail program.

“I am truly honored to be recognized by NAC as part of such a diverse and dedicated class of inductees,” Rae said. “It’s been a privilege to serve various constituencies over the course of my career and rewarding to work so closely with clients and other stakeholders in my current role at STV.”

Established in 1999, the NAC is an organization of industry leaders that recognizes those who have made “outstanding, life-long contributions to the design and construction industry.”
