Alexandra Chamandy-Cook, P.E., associate and engineer in New York, was selected by the Professional Women in Construction (PWC) as one of this year’s 20 Under 40 outstanding women in construction.

“It’s such an honor to be selected from such an incredible group of peers,” Chamandy-Cook said. “When I joined STV (in 2017), I was energized to be working with such a strong team, including many women.  I feel supported and trusted in my role, and I hope that women continue to participate in this industry at all levels, including leadership positions.”

Over the course of her STV tenure, Chamandy-Cook has supported the design of several signature passenger rail initiatives, including the Purple Line Extension Section 3 design-build project for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Gateway Program Hudson River Tunnel project connecting New York and New Jersey.

Chamandy-Cook is also active in many industry organizations. In addition to her involvement with PWC, she is co-chair of the Women’s Transportation Seminar Greater New York Chapter’s Young Professionals Committee and is a mentee in WTS’ mentoring program.
