Since joining STV in 2019, Breanna Gribble, CHMM, ENV SP, WEDG, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, has played a crucial part in growing our resilience practice. As the firm’s senior resilience manager, she has advised teams on multi-hazard resilient design, performed resilience assessments to ensure that best practices are being implemented, has developed marketing strategies for our services, and also conducts learning sessions for employees.
In recognition of her work and leadership, Gribble has been recognized by Building Design + Construction (BD+C) magazine as a member of its 40 Under 40 Class of 2022.
BD+C’s 40 Under 40 recognizes architects, engineers, contractors and real estate developers for their “career achievements, passion for the AEC profession, involvement with AEC industry organizations, and service to their communities.”
As the list’s “Resilience Crusader,” Gribble met all of BD+C’s criteria. In addition to her project work at STV, Gribble is an active member of several industry organizations, including the American Institute of Architect’s Design for Recovery and Reconstruction Committee; National Council of Structural Engineers Association’s (NCSEA) Resilience Committee; Structural Engineers Association of New York Resilience Committee; International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) Finance & Guidance, Tools, Standards Subcommittee (founding member); and the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee for a Changing Climate Compound Flood subcommittee.
Earlier this year, Breanna was one of 80 industry experts and academics from around the country to participate in the prestigious National Academy of Engineering’s U.S. Frontiers of Engineering symposium.
Additionally, she contributed to and was a technical reviewer for two published position papers from ICSI: A Review of the Landscape of Guidance, Tools and Standards for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure and Developing and Accelerating Procurement Practices to Enable Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure; and she collaborated with the NCSEA Resilience Committee to co-author two articles in Structure Magazine: Adapt and Transform: COVID-19 Lessons for a More Resilient Future, as well as a second part. She also co-authored Playing Tetris in a Hurricane for Structure. In 2020, she participated in a multi-city study organized by the Centre for Liveable Cities and the Urban Land Institute, whose findings were summarized in a book, Building Climate Resilience in Cities Worldwide: 10 Principles to Forge a Cooperative Ecosystem.

Breanna loves and embraces the challenge posed by Resilience and works every day to move the needle on this huge effort. Internally and externally she tirelessly promotes, challenges, and educates those around her to think differently and be part of the greater solution.”
