STV Architect Elected to Local Construction Specifications Institute Board

STV’s Paul Ligniti, AIA, senior associate, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Construction Specifications Institute Metropolitan New York Chapter.
The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), which is commemorating its 75th anniversary this year, is dedicated to advancing construction specifications and standards. With over 6,000 members consisting of architecture, engineering, and construction professionals, the organization strives to improve communication and understanding of construction information by establishing and promoting standardized practices, formats, and terminology related to specifications. Ligniti, a longstanding CSI member, will serve a two-year term on the board of his local chapter.
“At CSI, our goal is to educate project teams to enhance project quality and delivery and ultimately optimize facility performance,” Ligniti said. “With this in mind, I look forward to serving the organization and sharing my experience and knowledge with other professionals.”
Ligniti is a senior architect and project manager with more than 30 years of experience supporting the design and construction of new facilities, as well as building and infrastructure improvements and rehabilitation. At STV, he has spearheaded design documentation and quality control procedures for prominent infrastructure projects in the New York Metropolitan area, including the LIRR Elmont-UBS Arena Station, MBTA Green Line Light Rail Extension, MTA Grand Central Madison, and MTA Jamaica Bus Depot.
Ligniti is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Westchester + Hudson Valley Chapter. Additionally, he is a committed member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Ligniti previously served as a mentor for the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York, a mentoring program for high school students who are interested in learning more about architecture, construction and engineering.
