STV Appoints Chris Haney, P.E., as New National Water Operating Group President

ATLANTA, GA – STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that Chris Haney, P.E., has joined the firm as the national water operating group president. In this role, Haney will work with STV leadership to expand the firm’s water practice across North America. Haney will use his industry knowledge and experience to tap into new opportunities, scale the practice and position the firm as a powerhouse player in the market.

Haney has nearly 30 years of experience in the water industry, with a track record for building dynamic teams and delivering award-winning projects for major water and wastewater utilities and agencies. During the past 20 years, he has served in various leadership roles leveraging effective strategies and technical expertise to rapidly grow new business lines and geographies while leading clients through some of their most challenging projects and programs. His expertise includes water and wastewater treatment with an emphasis in resource recovery and applications of new technologies, alternative delivery, sustainability and resiliency. 

Haney received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a registered professional engineer in Georgia, Florida and Texas. He is an active member of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, Georgia Association of Water Professionals and ACEC Georgia. He also serves on the Water Tower Research Advisory Committee. He will be based in metro Atlanta, where STV has three local offices.

The Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA), the single largest federal investment in water infrastructure in U.S. history, and other forms of public and private funding are driving a generational transformation of the sector. As part of its 2023-2025 Strategic Plan, STV is expanding its industry markets, services and geographic footprint to meet the needs of current and future clients.

STV has extensive experience with water and wastewater infrastructure in Texas, the Carolinas, New York and across the U.S. In Austin, STV served as lead designer for the rehabilitation and improvement of the South Austin Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, one of the city’s two major municipal treatment facilities. In Dallas, STV converted the Central Regional Wastewater System’s grit removal basins to higher-capacity vortex basins. In San Antonio, STV provided a full suite of design and construction management services for the Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project (VRRSP), the largest public-private partnership (P3) water project in North America at the time of its completion. In Charlotte, STV’s design of sewer lines for the Little Sugar Creek Tributary garnered an Honor Award from the North Carolina chapter of ACEC.
