STV’s project controls and digital delivery experts recently shared insights and project successes at the 2023 Kahua Enabling Innovation conference in Atlanta, GA. This annual conference spotlights how Kahua users, like STV, are implementing its project management tech solutions.

Scott Marks, PMP, CM-BM, director of digital delivery, John Dumas, senior vice president and director of project controls, Ryan Koenigs, Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) manager, and Brady Babbitt, PMI-SP, project controls manager, presented on how the organization is performing integrated program management services for United Airlines’ Terminal B redevelopment at Houston Airport (IAH).

The Terminal B transformation will modernize and expand the terminal with brand-new concourses, an arrivals and departures facility, and a curbside approach, as well as an upgraded fleet. United Airlines selected STV, alongside AvAirPros, to serve as the integrated program management team.

“For a project of this magnitude, United Airlines sought an integrated technology approach to its program management,” said Marks, who leads STV’s Digital Delivery practice, which specializes in project support and digital delivery software. “For the past 18 months, STV has been evaluating United’s technical, functional and business requirements. Our team assessed three vendors with our client-specific selection criteria before ultimately selecting and implementing Kahua’s project management information systems (PMIS) software.”

At the conference, Marks and his colleagues also shared the team’s best practices and standards for its PMIS advisory services for clients. At IAH, STV is providing on-going user training and support as United adopts this new PMIS standard for its Terminal B transformation.

STV’s success at IAH reflects a larger push from the organization to support clients in leveraging PMIS software like Kahua, along with other emerging software technologies.

“STV’s digital delivery team is comprised of PMIS, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) experts, who understand these tools inside and out,” Marks said. “As part of STV’s advisory services, we collaborate with clients to identify and deploy cutting-edge digital technology that streamlines their projects based on their needs.”
