STV Chairman Honored for Career of Service by National Academy of Construction

Jul 27, 2021

In recognition of his long-standing support and leadership, the National Academy of Construction (NAC) has honored STV Chairman Dominick M. Servedio, P.E., with the Richard L. Tucker Outstanding Service Award.

Servedio has been a member of the NAC – an esteemed group of construction industry leaders – since 2008 and served as its president from 2015-16. He is also past chair of the academy’s Membership Committee and served as a core member of the NAC’s strategic planning process.

The Richard L. Tucker Award is named for the academy’s founder, who personally led the establishment of the NAC in 1999. Now in its second year, the award recognizes those in the engineering, design and construction industries who have made significant contributions over the course of a career.

“It’s a tremendous honor to receive the Richard L. Tucker Award,” Servedio said. “Richard recruited me for selection to NAC. I cherish the experience of meeting him and seeing his ideas for the academy grow. This is an amazing group of people. It’s been a wonderful opportunity to meet so many distinguished individuals and to see the evolution of their ideas.”

During Servedio’s tenure as an NAC leader, he skillfully guided the academy during a period of membership expansion and outreach. Additionally, a focus on safety intensified during this period, with some 50 white papers on the subject being published by the NAC.

“Dominick’s sustained commitment to the academy defines the Richard L. Tucker Outstanding Service Award,” said Wayne Crew, NAC general secretary. “His generosity with his leadership, time, resources, and ideas has helped NAC expand and elevate in so many areas. We’re happy to recognize him for his contributions.” Servedio will be formally recognized by NAC at its annual meeting in Colorado Springs in October.
